FIND SOLID FOOTING.

Steady ground starts here.

Therapy offers space to slow down, gain perspective, and figure out what comes next.

You don't have to be in crisis—or even know exactly what's wrong—to know you want something to feel different.

WELCOME TO NEW GROUND

You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy.

Sometimes life changes beneath us. Sometimes we've spent so long taking care of everyone else that we've lost sight of ourselves. Sometimes we've been surviving for so long that we forget what it feels like to simply feel steady.

Therapy isn't about fixing who you are.

It's about understanding yourself with honesty and compassion, recognizing what you can control, and finding a way forward that feels right for you.

Alex Heines, licensed therapist at New Ground Therapy in St. Louis Missouri, smiling in a warm, relaxed setting.

HI, I'M ALEX.

Therapy should feel like a conversation—not another place where you have to have it all together.

I'm Alex Heines, MA, LPC. I've spent more than 12 years working with teens and adults navigating anxiety, relationships, life changes, stress, and the seasons when things just feel harder than they should.

My approach is warm, straightforward, and practical. We'll make space for what's hard, figure out what's actually getting in the way, and work toward changes that make sense for your real life.

You don't need to show up knowing exactly what's wrong—or what you want to do about it. We can figure that part out together.

MAYBE YOU'RE HERE BECAUSE...

Life looks okay from the outside. But it doesn't feel that way.

You may be getting through your days, doing what needs to be done, and still know that something isn't quite right.

You keep replaying conversations in your head.

You're used to being the person everyone depends on—and you're tired.

Something changed, and you're having a harder time with it than you expected.

You keep finding yourself in the same patterns, even though you know they aren't working.

Or maybe you can't quite put your finger on it. You just know you don't want to keep feeling like this.

Support that’s grounded in who you are—not just what you’re going through.
